Becoming Encephalosapiens explores a future where humans augment their minds to accelerate and optimize cognitive functioning in response to a world riddled with complex problems and champions intellectuals. The emphasis on the importance of human knowledge evolution fascinates me. This pressure to acquire and build upon the human knowledge database will be our biggest, most important adaptation as a species. Without knowing how to fix the problems we face, we can not hope to survive for the next 100 years. We might have to find ways to enhance our neural computational capacity in the future. Neuroscience for human augmentation is one of the most promising emerging technologies for the future

New Sense Organs
Neurotechnologies would enable us to have an additional sense organ that detects previously unperceivable stimulus to expand the range of information reception. Information could then be encoded in more forms (low frequencies, high frequencies, vibrations, infrared, ultraviolet, etc). So one could absorb more information via subliminal learning due to different levels information processing in the brain.

A genetically modified wearable fungal network that would provide a sustained stream of nutrients to the brain and body. The brain can’t store food and requires a continuous supply of nutrients to function. Therefore, for convenience the network was made wearable so that its always in contact with the body.

Biochemically activated nano-ports would be implanted into the skin of the subject. Secretions from hypha-dermis symbiota will regulate the opening of these ports. Once ports open, the organism will penetrate and release nutrients into the nano-port channel which reaches the bloodstream
